About the Course:
This course examines various controversial issues facing modern biological sciences. Each week, students will participate in a facilitated discussion on a given issue pertaining to one of the following branches of biology:
* Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
* Cell and Developmental Biology
* Genetics and Genomes
* Immunology and Pathogenesis
* Neurobiology
Past topics include pre-embryonic research, designer babies, surrogacy, euthanasia, antibiotic resistance, genetically modified organisms, the legitimacy and effectiveness of antidepressants, brain-computer interfaces, and incorporating neurology data into the legal system.
All students are welcome to enroll regardless of major.
