About the Course:

Have you ever clicked on a Kpop music video or a clip of Kdrama on YouTube and wondered about the country of Korea that is at the heart of all this hype? Then this course is for you! Welcome to EKM Spring '16 classes. In this class, you will have an opportunity to derive a bigger picture of Korea, its society, and people by piecing together a cornucopia of media sources like films, TV programs, dramas, Webtoons, games, and etc. We first enjoy various Korean (of course, Southern ones!) media, most of which are movies, and then analyze those media sources  to see how each of them relate to different aspects of the Korean society. We will have one 2-hour session each week and you can skip a maximum of 1 session without any notice. (Yes, we check attendance!) Asides from that, we require you to write biweekly media responses (about a half page) and a final paper. (3-4 pages)

How to Enroll:

The enrollment policy is first-come, first-serve basis out of 25 available seats. There is no interview, application and etc. to enroll in this class. It's OK if you have no Korean culture basis!
