About the Course:

This course is designed to introduce students with little or no culinary background to the basics of cooking, grocery shopping, and nutrition as a college student. Many students face the transition from dormitories to apartments and off-campus housing, where they are now responsible for their own meals. We aim to teach kitchen safety, grocery shopping skills, budgeting, and nutrition, as well as discuss current food topics. Note: students will be expected to have access to a kitchen.

30% Final Project


How to Enroll:

Application is now closed. 

Attendance at the first class is mandatory in addition to filling out the application. This class meets Wednesdays, 6:30-8 pm in 258 Dwinelle. The first class will be Wednesday,1/27/16. 

Please have a backup course in case you are not able to enroll in this DeCal as we have more applicants than spots as of now.
