About the Course:

Join us in our in-depth exploration of some of the earliest days of the famous wizard, Merlin. Using T.A. Barron’s “The Lost Years of Merlin” book series we will learn about Merlin’s days as a boy, connecting his experiences to the wise man he became: mentor and teacher of the famous King Arthur. We will intertwine the series with Arthurian legend, magic, and the realm of fantasy as a whole, including other topics related to the reading. We will simultaneously explore and discuss the remarkable world and story T.A. Barron has created for young Merlin’s lost years of his boyhood. Students are not required to have read the books before the class. If you are interested in this course, feel free to e-mail Nicole at nicolethomas@berkeley.edu or Megan at meganyoon@berkeley.edu
