About the Course:

With the advancement of the new field of Social Entrepreneurship, ambitious, creative, and determined entrepreneurs from all over the world have begun to tackle major social issues with innovative business solutions. In this class, students will gain an understanding of social entrepreneurship as a means to developing impoverished communities by learning, discussing, and analyzing different social entrepreneurship models through specific case studies and by listening to speakers.

In addition, perhaps the most interesting aspect about the class is that we will also be participating in some "hands-on" social entrepreneurship by starting and operating our own enterprise on campus. In conjunction with EDUN Live (, an apparel company that produces t-shirts which are "grower to sewer" African (every step of the supply chain is completed in Sub-Saharan Africa), we will split up into teams of marketing, sales, and operations to get student organizations, fraternities, sororities, departments to print their t-shirts from us. This will create long-term sustainable employment and trade in these developing regions.

If you...

1. want to apply your critical thinking skills/business skills

2. are interested in development or social entrepreneurship

3. just want to make an impact

This class might be for you! We encourage people from all backgrounds and majors to apply. We are also looking for designers! The class will most likely be from 7-9 p.m. on Monday.

How to Enroll:

There is an application process as there are limited spots. We advise that you all to spend some quality time on the application, as it will be the one and only aspect of the selection process. Before applying, take note that the class will take approximately 2 hrs outside of class weekly.
