About the Course:
Ever wondered what makes a horror movie truly frightening? An action movie so intense? A drama actually meaningful- or even a little heartwarming?... Then this might be the DeCal for you! Ponder these questions while watching contemporary Japanese films that push the boundaries of genre many of us are accustomed to.
The focus will be on films directed by Kurosawa Kiyoshi and Miike Takashi.
Please see the syllabus (subject to change) for details.
How to Enroll:
Enrollment is limited to 30 students, 15 upper and lower division. If you're interested, be sure to show up to the first class (Monday, 1/25) for enrollment info. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line at the course email.
