About the Course:

We are going examine how conflicts first arose between China and Taiwan and trace the development of these issues through the 20th century. We will be looking at how these issues play out in politics of both areas today by reading up on current events. And finally, we will be discussing the influence that US has on Cross Straight relations. The course is heavily based on reading and discussion, on sharing our thoughts, on examing this complex issue from all different angles. Our goal is simply to help everyone become more knowledgeable in this issue in hopes that it will increase your understanding of US foreign relations.
