Shortcuts: decal.org/986 decal.org/reporting
A different aspect of in-depth reporting and writing will be covered each week, drawing on the knowledge of local professionals. We will invite journalists from the Center for Investigative Reporting, the San Francisco Chronicle and the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism to teach students about finding story ideas, researching a topic, dealing with difficult sources, and presenting multimedia.
The course will be taught as a seminar, encouraging group discussion. Throughout the semester, students will work to report and produce a package consisting of an in-depth article and supporting multimedia element.
