Teach the Bay: Become an SAT teacher!

Spring 2009 - Education 97/197 - Units: 1-2

Shortcuts:     decal.org/982     decal.org/ptps

This is a community service/field work course.

The People’s Test Prep Service (PTPS) is a non-profit student-run group dedicated to providing free accessible instruction in standardized test-taking to college-bound students.

Participants in the "Teach The Bay" DeCal help teach our free SAT prep classes in the East Bay.

PTPS targets students in Oakland, Richmond, and Berkeley school districts who want to improve their SAT scores but do not have the financial means to do so.  There are few SAT prep options for low-income youth – commercial test-prep companies start at $500, beyond what many families can afford.  And so each semester, PTPS offers free SAT classes to high school students across the East Bay Area.

Enrollment Info:

To sign up to be a PTPS teacher, fill out an application as found on our website, www.ptps.org, and submit the application to our e-mail, ptps.berkeley AT gmail.com.
