About the Course:

The class will consist of a lecture on causation and logic by Professor Fitelson, as well as weekly presentations on related philosophy topics including determinism, causality, and free will. Also, there will be multiple meetings devoted to in-depth show details and theory presentations about Lost. Weekly reading and writing assignments will tie together the shows philosophy and that of causal philosophy.
A final project will revolve around predicting the final outcome of the show, with connections to lecture topics.
The goal of this Decal is to be a discussion centered around the past and future of the television show Lost, while learning elements of causal philosophy in order to better discern the intentions and meaning of the work.
This class is intended to be for fans of Lost, so enrollment will be based on knowledge and interest in the show!

How to Enroll:

If you are interested in enrolling, please email with the subject line “Lost Decal Signup” so we can get a feel for how many students will attend. Enrollment will be capped at 25 students. If the number of interested students exceeds this, a quiz will be given on the first day of class – and the top students will be enrolled in the class. We'd like lively, knowledgeable discussion!
