About the Course:
With the crucial 2008 presidential election coming up, it is imperative to study the effects of media bias on the way Barack Obama, John McCain, their surrogates, and perhaps most importantly, their policies and ideals, are portrayed. This course is designed for just that purpose. More broadly, the course is meant to display the academic value of studying media bias while simultaneously relating it to the 2008 presidential election. In addition to studying media bias in relation to political decisions, we will also relate media bias to the field of economics and how media bias could also affect other areas of public concern. This course will incorporate different forms of learning, including debate and hands-on activities.

CCNs will be given out on the first day of class, but an e-mail expressing interest would be great. This class is open to anyone and everyone who has an interest in media bias, economics, and politics. E-mail now!
