About the Course:
ALL MAJORS WELCOME: UC Berkeley volunteers will serve as mentors and be given the opportunity to work with younger students, learn about science education, and build relationships with their mentees.
As part of the decal, volunteers will also work in groups to design their own educational engineering activity that will be introduced to the volunteer sites during the last two weeks of the semester.
Section 1
George Washington Elementary School
Thursday afternoon, 2 units
Fort Mason: A Home Away From Homelessness
Friday, 3:30-6:30 pm 3 units
YWCA TechGyrls: ACORN Elementary
Friday, 1-3 pm, 2 units
Section 2
Richmond High School
11:45 – 12:30 pm, 2 units
Class format:
Attendance will be required at the weekly decal meetings held on campus. Volunteering regularly at one or more volunteer site per week is required outside of class.
