About the Course:

This course is designed to help students learn strategies that will enable them to be successful within the psychology major. The topics include: research assistant positions, honor’s thesis, writing, and study skills for psychology classes, areas of specialty within our department, time management, graduate schools in psychology, and using the career center as a resource.

The course is taught through lecture by the course facilitators and guest speakers. Guest speakers differ from semester to semester. Previous speakers include Prof. John, Prof. Chen, Prof. Ivry, Prof. Kring, Prof. Campos, Suzanne McDermott, and Jane Tupper. In addition we combine lecture with discussion and collaborative learning.
