About the Course:

Asian Film Studies aims to provide a basic understanding of the themes, content, and culture of Asian movies, as well as an introduction to film making techniques. The course consists of one 2 hour lecture per week, which will include a short informal discussion at the end of each class. In this class, the students will be watching many Asian movies.

Here is a short list of movies we will be watching this year. We’ll have some lectures where the class can choose from a selection of movies to watch.

Azumi
Infernal Affairs
My Sassy Girl
Old Boy
Shinobi
Water Boys

How to Enroll:

I believe the waitlist is now full so the CCN has been removed. That doesn’t mean you can’t get in the class. Please attend the first lecture on Monday September 11th to fill out a form. Anyone who enrolled via telebears but doesn’t sign in during the first lecture will be dropped. If you cannot make the first meeting, please email us for special accomodations – but please remember that there are a number of students who are interested in the class so priority will be given to those who attend.

This course is listed under the EE department (EECS98/EECS198). This is not a mistake!

The course has now moved to 247 Cory! Please make a note of that! Thanks!
