About the Course:

From the official website (http://rubyonrails.org):

Ruby on Rails is an open-source web framework that's optimized for programmer happiness and sustainable productivity.  It lets you write beautiful code by favoring convention over configuration.

Being fluent in a framework that allows you to quickly build well designed websites provides you with many lucrative opportunities.  There are new websites being developed everyday, so there will always be demand for good web-programmers.  Websites also have the unique property of taking very little money to start, but the potential to end up being a multibillion dollar venture.  This course will teach you the fundamental skills necessary to develop websites using Ruby on Rails.

How to Enroll:

The course assumes you have basic programming skills, though no experience with ruby or rails is necessary.  This course will move at an aggressive pace.  In order to get the most out of the class, you must continue learning rails outside the lectures and presentations.
