About the Course:

With recent scandals in the business world being of a very public nature (Enron, Adelphia, Worldcom etc.), ethics in the culture of business is as relevant a topic as it has ever been. Analyzing how the business world as a whole and the ethics contained within and tied to it are portrayed in the media (film, television) is a healthy exercise; it is one that allows us to better understand how the business world (typically American) is portrayed to the consumers of mass media and in turn affects their behaviors.

For reference, films and TV shows viewed last semester included: Office Space, The Insider, The Constant Gardener, Arrested Development(TV), Entourage(TV) and more

By viewing such primary source documents and asking for participants to respond to them, this class will help to promote ethics consideration in students.

How to Enroll:

CCN’s will be distributed after the first meeting. We have room for almost seventy students. If we have more applicants this time around we might have to turn people away. There seems to be considerable interest in the class this semester.
