About the Course:

GET YOUR SYNAPSES FIRING as you learn-- what a synapse IS!

This is a survey course about the brain, in which learning about cognition and neuroscience will be fun, creative, entertaining, and interactive!

This course is open to science and non-science majors, alike. We assume you know little, if anything, about neuroscience. This course is not designed to mimic an intro MCB class; it's a novel learning environment in which you can enjoy exposure to information about a very important organ called the brain, that you, and, probably, all of your friends have. It is a place where you will learn about some of the most curious phenomena in the world- from phantom limbs to dreams!

Class will comprise presentations of the latest neuroscience in the news, numerous presentations by very engaging guest speakers, occasional educational films on related topics, and plentiful discussion. The hard part (earning credit), is not so hard- you'll earn your grade with attendance, participation, and light- to a bit heavier than light- weekly reading, about which you'll be required to submit a one-page write-up. Syllabus will be uploaded to this page at a later date.
