About the Course:
Interested in Pre-Med, Psychology, or Education?
Come join our exciting program!!
The objective of our program is to equip children with knowledge, tools, and skills to make sound choices and informed decisions for themselves. The curriculum is science based, interactive, and activity driven with maximum participation of the children in a small group teaching format whenever possible.
The course consists of two aspects -
1. A weekly meeting (roughly one hour, very relaxed athmosphere)
2. One hour of teaching a public school class. All participating students will teach their own class in teams of two to four people and will have complete freedom in their presentation of the material.
All teaching materials and curriculum (as well as a sample class - teaching script) will be provided.
How to Enroll:
Everyone is encouraged to apply, but transportation is a plus.
IF INTERESTED, please come by our first meeting Sept 17th at 6:00pm in Tolman Hall or send us an email to helpatberkeley@yahoo.com for details.
As we are also a student group it is possible to participate without enrolling in the DeCal.
