About the Course:

Discussions, activities, and guest lectures centered on topics relating to happiness such as family, moral education, internal happiness, media, culture, health and spirituality, depression, marriage and relationships, service, etc.

The class is set up as a discussion forum with a new topic every week. Structured around short lectures by the facilitators and reading assignments to give everyone a common ground, the class generally centers on small discussions and, if people are willing, larger discussions as well. The best classes are ones in which the students feel comfortable and courageous enough to share their own experiences, enlightening their fellows in ways we facilitators never could; to encourage this, we ourselves occasionally share our own stories. More than anything, though, this time is meant to be devoted to the kind of conversations and discussions it is all too hard to achieve in normal everyday life, even with the people who care most about us.
