About the Course:

Vampires, werewolves, and faeries, oh my!

Does the smell of blood make you salivate?  Do you howl at the moon?  Do you have an ever-present mischievous glint in your eye?

Come quench your thirst for the darker side of fantasy literature in BookWorlds: The Dark Fantasy Chronicles.  Over the course of the semester we will read the following books:

Sabriel by Garth Nix

Blood and Chocolate by Annette Kurtis Klause

Tithe by Holly Black

Shattered Mirror by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

Additionally we will cover a selection of short faerie tales (original and adaptations.) Don’t be afraid of the reading list; the books are of reasonable lengths.

Blood, lust and eternal rivalries… what more could you ask for?  If you have any questions or if you wish to informally reserve a spot in the class, e-mail us at darkfantasy07@gmail.com.  Don’t underestimate the power of the dark side.

How to Enroll:

CCNs will be given out on the first day of class, if you wish to reserve an informal spot in class e-mail us and we will put your name on a list and those who show up on the first day will get an e-mail with the CCN.
