About the Course:

This course will examine the biology of the HIV/AIDS virus and its impact on global health, with a particular focus Pediatric HIV/AIDS. Furthermore the course will explore much of the current science and research surrounding the virus in addition to determining the various policies and government responses to the HIV/AIDS epidemic that is plaguing many parts of the developing world. Through weekly assigned readings, guest speakers, quizzes, and a policy presentation at the end of the course students will be able to critically think about how HIV/AIDS impacts their immediate and global communities and provide them with the tools to become an active part of the solution in the fight against PedAIDS.
