About the Course:

Jesus, Muhammad, and the Modern State symbolizes the relationship between Christianity, Islam and the contemporary world.  We will learn about issues that are pertinent to both religions and how they affect the relationship between some of the most influential issues in modern states. War, oppression, terrorism, and sectarian problems are some extant issues that members of the public popularly believe are born out of religion.

This Decal is an interactive lecture, so the success of this class is largely dependent on class participation and our collective interest and enthusiasm for religion and current world affairs. Course requirements include regular attendance and participation, a one-page weekly reflection paper, oral presentation, and a four-page final research paper to be submitted at the end of the semester.
