Our Mission Statement:

Fitness at Cal’s goal for every student is to motivate them to live healthy lifestyle, create a safe environment to learn, and innovate ourselves to go beyond our own expectations.

 

Fitness is not just a goal, it’s a lifestyle. Our lifestyle. Everyone has a different needs and we want to cater to them. Whether it be leaning down, bulking up, or just experimenting with new fitness methods. We will teach you about S.M.A.R.T. goals, time management, nutrition, the science behind a human body, and how to create a fitness schedule.


We are all busy students, we go to the number one public university in the world. Needless to say we are expected to perform at a higher level of everything. Whether it be grades, student organizations, greek life, social life, and sometimes we get so lost in this that you forget to take care of yourself. That’s why we are Fitness@Cal! This course will teach you how to handle the craziness of Cal and still take care of yourself.


The aim of this course is to get you to start thinking critically about your well-being. Regardless of your fitness level, we will reflect on your pros and cons then help culminate everything into one final product of success. Our facilitators will work with you personally to help make your life what you want it to be!


Course Learning Objective

  • Figure out what fitness means to you

  • Meet others that are interested in fitness

  • Find a physical activity that you enjoy on or near campus

  • Feel EMPOWERED to make the change and improve your lifestyle

Course Details

  • Two hour per week in the evening

    • One hour devoted to varied physical activities

    • One hour of discussion

  • Wide variety of physical activities that range from soccer to quidditch, or yoga to hip hop

  • Discussions will help address issues students have, how to improve themselves, and methods to incorporate health into their own life

    • Topics include: time management, SMART goals, and nutrition

How to Enroll:

If you are interested in becoming a Facilitator, please fill out an application and email it in. We will do our best to respond as soon as possible.

Student applications are now available, please note that we ONLY ACCEPT hard copies. Please print one out and type it up.

Drop Off Box Location: 173 Hearst Gym on a table next to the room.
