About the Course:

Wes Anderson.

Many of you, like myself, may believe his stories and aesthetic to be faint glimmers of civilization in this barbaric slaughterhouse that was once known as cinema.

Or maybe you're not sure! Maybe you don't get his style or maybe you generally like his stuff but hate Darjeeling Limited.

Regardless if you love or hate him, his use of cinema and aesthetic grows more and more influential with each film he directs. This class will try to analyze his use of film as a medium for his stories and ideas. What's profound? What's problematic? What's groundbreaking? What's tacky?

This class is meant to be for any student, studying any major. Hopefully it will be a gateway drug to film analysis and will give you all the tools you need to tear apart someone's half-assed critiques.

Room info:

Still trying to iron out the details, but at the moment Tuesday screenings and discussions will take place in 240 Mulford and Thursday discussions will take place in 123 Wheeler. For the first day of class (Jan 28), we will meet in 123 Wheeler.

How to Enroll:

Hopefully we can have whoever wants to be in the class, in the class. Come to the first day of class (Jan 28) and I'll share the CCN with y'all. If there's too many people, I will probably enroll those who have filled out the form first.

Please fill this form out just to give me a heads up of who wants to join the class.
