This class is intended to be an introduction to global medicine for students who are unfamiliar with the material but interested in an alternative but emerging field of medicine.

It is primarily a discussion-based class. There will be only one written assignment (the reflection), but there will be ample debates, simulations, and open-air discussions.

We will be exploring the foundations of public health from the imperial era to modern day, and applying this lense to current issues.

Because of the depth of the content attendance is mandatory.

How to Enroll:

Enrollment is first come, first served. On the waitlist, preference will be given to students also active in the parent organization, Partners in Health Engage @ Berkeley.
