About the Course:
This is a course for bat-beginners and bat-veterans alike - all those interested in investigating Batman as American mythology and beyond. Because no myth exists in a vacuum and Batman's myth is historic as well as modern and ongoing, we will often compare Batman to various real-life contexts and influences. We'll incorporate various visual elements as well, such as the animated episodes or movie screenings. Course content will encompass analyzing Batman cartoons/TV shows, movies, and comics, with special emphasis on a few pivotal graphic novels which will be required reading for the class.
You can look forward to some new class-activity surprises we've got up our sleeves as well!
(any questions? send us an email! holydecalbatman[AT]gmail[DOT]com)
The Facilitators: Danielle returns for her third semester to educate malleable minds in the ways of the Bat, this time around joining forces with Catherine and Liz to form the ultimate crime-fighting (and bat-educating) trio!
(we'll also try to resist the urge of putting 'bat' in front of everything!)
How to Enroll:
Show up for the first day of class, get your name + email on the list - the class roster will be decided by random raffle, and we'll inform everyone soon thereafter.
First Day of Class: Thursday, September 6th, 6pm @ 123 Wheeler!
**** WE WILL HAVE THIS CLASS IN SPRING!!! SPRING POSTING COMING SOON! ******
