About the Course:

This class introduces students to the basic movement, rhythm and styling of Argentine tango as well as the history and culture of the dance.  No experience or dance partner is required.

The class begins every Thursday and spans 3 hours.

The first hour is a discussion that covers topics ranging from the history and culture of the dance to musical elements unique to Tango.

The second hour is the actual dance portion, where students are taught the basic movements, vocabulary, and fundamental techniques of Tango.

The final hour is simply a practice period where students have a chance to apply what they've learned in previous sessions.

The class contains light homework and reading in addition to a final project due at the end of the course.
