About the Course:

Remember those great stories you read as a young adult? How they filled your world with excitement and curiosity? Join us in reexamining our favorite collection of young-adult fiction. We will deconstruct and discuss how young and old alike read these stories, how we are affected by them, the role they play in society, and all they tell us about the enchantment of adolescence. We will be reading these with adolescent and adult perspectives, please prepare yourselves accordingly. If you’‘re a magic and fantasy guru, or you’re just starting the journey, this class will be great. We look foward to seeing you there.

Here is our reading list (Subject to Change):
“The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe” by C.S. Lewis, “A Wizard of Earthsea” by Ursula K. Leguin, “Dealing with Dragons” by Patricia Wrede, “The Golden Compass” by Philip Pullman, “Redwall” by Brian Jacques, “The Giver” by Lois Lowry, “So You Want To Be A Wizard” by Diane Duane, and “Harry Potter” by J.K.
