About the Course:

This course is designed to explore different realms of flirting as a form of communication. It addresses a variety of issues including the meaning of flirting, aspects of attraction, presentation and self-evaluation, differences in flirting styles, flirting miscommunication, harassment, the media’s effect on flirting styles, and flirting through different mediums. The class will integrate both the theoretical and practical applications of flirting, and encourages students to connect the principles of flirtatious behavior to other disciplines and experiences.
The primary mode of instruction will be through discussion and collaborative learning guided by the sub-topic and readings. Video clips and guest speakers will supplement course materials.
To create a safe environment for discussion, because the different subjects related to flirting can be a sensitive topic, policies and plans will be discussed. Please see addendum for further details. Students will be expected to participate and contribute to discussions, and bring outside material to the course, such as articles, pictures, and video clips.

How to Enroll:

Attend the first day of class for further instructions. Students will most likely be asked to complete an online survey as part of the admission requirement.
