About the Course:

Media and Technology have changed virtually every aspect of modern life and contributed to some of the most innovative inventions within the last century. This course will be looking into the rapidly changing world of social media, entertainment, advertising and much, much more. Within 13 weeks, we will go over various interesting topics and even discuss their social, economic, political and ethical effects. The course will be split into two main categories: soft and hard technology.

Each class will consist of a lecture/presentation by the facilitators of the class, followed by class discussion. There will be a few articles assigned from various technology websites like TechCrunch that must be read prior to class each week. Make sure that media and technology is something that really interests you since we hope to have many lively conversations throughout the semester.

How to Enroll:

Attend the first class on 9/12 and we will distribute the course control number and entry code at that time. If more than 31 people are interested in joining, we will have each person fill out a short survey and choose those that are genuinely interested. All majors and years welcome!
