About the Course:

This class is for people who have learned some guitar before and want to go beyond playing simple 4 chord songs.  This class is essentially all about fingerpicking.  Leave your picks at home.  

Students are evaluated on participation, effort, and improvement.  

Students are expected to attend every class.  Three absences will result in a non-passing grade.  Forgetting to bring your guitar to class also counts as an absence.  

Some basic music theory and chords will be taught.  A midterm and final will have both a written and performance portion.  Not taking either a midterm or final also results in a non-passing grade.

How to Enroll:

There is a limited number of seats in the class, so please answer the following questions and send your answers to elementalrhapsody@gmail.com by August 25th. Students who are most interested and committed to learning the guitar will be accepted.  Those accepted will be notifed by email by August 26th.  Everyone else is on the waitlist and should still attend the first two classes in case someone drops.  Keep your answers concise and clean.  No essays please.

5. What moves faster than the speed of light? (use your imagination; this question acts as a tiebreaker if two students appear equally interested and committed, so focus on question 4; humor would be a plus)
