About the Course:
Remember those great stories you read as a child? How they filled your world with excitement and curiosity? Join us in reexamining our favorite kids’ stories. We will deconstruct and discuss how children and adults read these stories, how we are affected by them, and what their role is/should be. We will be reading these with an adult and a kids perpective, so don’t forget to bring your inner child. The readings may will altered, but may include “The Little Prince” by Antoine de Saint ExupĂ©ry, “Alice in Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll, “The Wind in the Willows” by Kenneth Graham, “Matilda” by Roald Dahl, “Charlotte’s Web” by E.B. White, “The Wizard of Oz” by L. Frank Baum, “The Giver” by Lois Lowry, ” “The Giving Tree/The Lorax” by Shel Silverstein, a collection short works from around the world, some academic essays and more.
How to Enroll:
The course will be held Mondays 5:30-7:30, the first being Mon. 22nd.
