About the Course:

Providing a detailed analysis of the stock market, "Introduction to Stocks" offers students of all majors and backgrounds a basic introduction to stocks as well as practical advice in investment management. This course aims to help students gain knowledge about the stock market and the ability to make their own investment decisions. By the end of the course, students will have working knowledge of the stock markets and be able to start in their own portfolio. No prior experience needed.

Some Topics Covered:

Terminology, Types of Securities, Behavioral Finance, Risk, International Investing, Portfolio Construction, Diversification, Allocation, Financial Statement Analysis, Strategies, Technical Analysis, Alternative Investments

How to Enroll:

Class enrollment will be determined by a short application that will be distributed the first day of class (9/8/11) and to be completed and submitted online to stockdecal@gmail.com by (9/10/10).

Anyone interested should attend the first class on Sept. 8th at 8PM in C320 Cheit at the Walter A. Haas School of Business.

The class is limited to 25 to 30 students and course control numbers will be distributed by email by 9/12/11.

If you can't attend the first meeting but are still interested in the class, the application will be posted on the stockdecal.com website on 9/8/11. Priority will be given to students who attend the first class.
