About the Course:
The People’s Test Prep Service (PTPS) is a non-profit student-run group dedicated to providing free accessible instruction in standardized test-taking to college-bound students. Participants in the PTPS DeCal help teach our free SAT prep classes in the East Bay.
PTPS targets students in Oakland, Richmond, and Berkeley school districts who want to improve their SAT scores but do not have the financial means to do so. There are few SAT prep options for low-income youth – commercial test-prep companies start at $500, beyond what many families can afford. And so each semester, PTPS offers free SAT classes to high school students across the East Bay Area.
**This course fulfills the education minor field study requirement.**
