About the Course:
In this course, we will investigate and critically analyze the inequalities in the K-12 public education system in the Bay Area, particularly in Oakland, Richmond and San Francisco. This will be accomplished primarily through engaging in site visits and educational outreach events, supplemented with interactive class discussions, films, and guest speakers. This field study course will address key issues in the inner cities that have hindered effective education for many students in these communities.
How to Enroll:
This course is open to all students interested in education or anyone who would like to get exposed to K-12 education system in inner city schools.
