About the Course:

Yet another awesome bookworlds class. Get 2 units for joining us in discussions and activities based around some fantastic books you should really read anyway.

Ever wondered what kind of utopia you would make? Figure out the fatal flaws and controls developed in Utopian Societies. Discover what Dystopias tell us about our own society and the human condition. Explore all these questions with us and more!

Possible readings include: “The Giver” by Lois Lowry, “1984” by George Orwell, “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley, “Faranheit 451” by Ray Bradbury, “The Dispossessed” by Ursula K. Leguin, “A Clockwork Orange” by Anthony Burgess, “The Handmaid’s Tale” by Margaret Atwood, and “Candide” by Voltaire as well as interesting articles and short stories by such authors as Philip K. Dick, Robert Heinlein, and more! (This list is subject to change)

How to Enroll:

The course will be held Wednesday 5:30-7:30
