About the Course:

Did you know that there are toxins in the products you buy that are illegal in the European Union, Canada, China, and many other countries, but are legal in the U.S. This semester (Spring 2010) there is a new DeCal that goes into the impacts of lax policies made in the U.S. on the regulation of chemicals. We will watch documentaries, have speakers, and many discussions (the class will be founded strongly on class discussions). We will look at the impacts these toxins have on our bodies, the environment, and what the U.S. policies for regulating chemicals impacts politics and vice versa. We will also be looking at environmental justice in relation to toxins and efforts to aid this issue.
This DeCal will be held on Wednesdays from 2pm to 4pm in 107 GPB. The first day of class will be Feb. 3rd.

How to Enroll:

Please come on the first day of class (February 3rd). We will have a first come first serve policy. However, if you cannot attend the first class please email me with your interest and we can work it out.
