About the Course:

In this class, students will be introduced to the historical, political, and current context of the conflict in Darfur, Sudan. We will focus on these main aspects of the conflict by highlighting the response of the government, the international community, international aid agencies, grassroots and civic organizations, international activism, and the media to this crisis. We will look at how this conflict has affected both Sudan and the region. After critically examining these issues, students will take part in a project and debate dealing with the issue.
