About the Course:
This is a course about an idea. Zionism is a hot-button, highly contested word in modern political and academic discourse. This course is an exploration of the original sources that formed this ideology. Through intensive, seminar-style discussion and debate of the foundational texts of Zionism, the students will gain a better understanding of the historical and philosophical context of this often misunderstood and contested “ism.”
How to Enroll:
The course will meet weekly to discuss the assigned readings in a highly participatory style. We will all be learning from one another, so it is imperative that everyone does the reading. That way, we can engage in genuinely thought provoking discussions based in the texts themselves and not preconceived notions.
