About the Course:
The goal of this class is to expose students to the diversity of healing philosophies and therapies. Many of these practices are popular in other countries and gaining recognition in the United States. We invite professionals from medical practices such as allopathy (modern western medicine), osteopathy, naturopathy, homeopathy, midwifery, Native American Medicine, acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, Taoist Medicine, Ayurveda, ethnobotany, yoga, meditation, biofeedback, chiropractics, and nutrition to share their insight into the science and art of healing across cultures.
Grades for the class will be based on participation and reflection. There are no tests, but attendance is required. Students cannot miss any more than two lectures.
How to Enroll:
We welcome students from all different majors--not just medical sciences! Enrollment is on a first come, first served basis. It is recommended that students attend the first lecture to secure a place in the class.
