Berkeley Engineers and Mentors (BEAM) - Elementary
About the Course:
Berkeley Engineers and Mentors (BEAM) is a program created to provide underserved students with engaging engineering activities during school and after school programs that stimulate their interest in pursuing careers in math, science, and engineering. UC Berkeley volunteers will serve as mentors and be given the opportunity to work with younger students on a weekly basis. Decal members will also learn about science education and build relationships with the mentees over the course of the semester.
As part of the decal, volunteers will also work in groups to design their own educational engineering activity that will be introduced to the volunteer sites during the last two weeks of the semester.
How to Enroll:
There are two sections, one for high school and the other for elementary school mentoring. Both sections are held on Mondays 7-8pm.Course Contact: calvinteng88 AT berkeley.edu, wylie AT berkeley.edu, atran503 AT gmail.com
