About the Course:
This course is a survey of contemporary animals ethics. We will cover the evolution and basis of the attribution of moral consideration to animals, while focusing on the main theories of the current animal rights/ethics debate. The aim of this course is to provide a critical analysis of the leading modern theories and movements, as well as consideration of the practical implications of animal ethics.
How to Enroll:
Course control numbers will be handed out on the first day of class. Please email the facilitator expressing interest to reserve a seat. Seats will be granted on a first-come, first-serve basis. This class is open to all majors. No previous experience in philosophy is required.
