DeCal.org

Website

This website was designed and coded in Fall 2005 by Jeff Bowman, based previous designs by Nate Singer, Forrest Monroe, and Nate Schneider. As of Summer 2006, Jeff is coding more revisions while Jojo Choi, Julia Gitis, and Patrick Yeung work extremely hard to create and edit content. The site is definitely a work in progress, and your feedback helps; please let us know what you think!

We're always looking for help! If you want to try your hand at working on this website, please contact us!

We use Adobe/Macromedia Flash 8, Adobe Photoshop CS2, and Adobe/Macromedia Dreamweaver 8. Our site uses Apache 2, MySQL 5, and PHP 4. The font used in our logo is Century Gothic and Century Gothic Bold. We drink Peet's, write with Paper-Mate pencils, and—oh, wait, you don't care.

Our wonderful logo was designed in Fall 2005 by Christina Cho. She created dozens of logotypes, which the board (myself included) sadistically criticized over and over again. She deserves many, many thanks.

Our Site Search is provided by Google, through their free Public Service Search page. If you're an ASUC organization, you qualify. And if you want to find out how we did it, e-mail us. [Google may be an overgrown Stanford research project, that is slowly taking over the world. That said, we thank them very much for their free search service.]

Hosting

Many thanks to the Open Computing Facility for hosting us for many years. Their dedicated staff made DeCal very easy to manage.

In July 2006, we moved to NearlyFreeSpeech.NET, which has given us very fast response times and very flexible pricing options. Thank you, NFSN!
