About the Course:

This course examines various controversial issues facing modern biological sciences. Each week, students will participate in a facilitated debate on a given issue pertaining to one of the following branches of biology:

* Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
* Cell and Developmental Biology
* Genetics and Genomes
* Immunology and Pathogenesis
* Neurobiology

Past debate topics include pre-embryonic research, designer babies, surrogacy, euthanasia, the distribution of antibiotics, genetically modified organisms, the legitimacy and effectiveness of antidepressants, and incorporating neurology data into the legal system.

No prior debate experience is required.

How to Enroll:

Enrollment is on a first come, first served basis. All students are welcome to enroll regardless of major.
