About the Course:

The purpose of this course is to educate students about the work of the American Red Cross and teach them the skills necessary to perform volunteer work in several different capacities.  The class will include exciting speakers from the American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter (ARCBA) and will increase students’ team-building and project-planning skills.  Students will be required to complete journal entries, homework assignments, and a service project, as well as outside service hours in the form of Red Cross training and volunteering. Students may not miss more than two class periods (emergencies and religious observances excepted). This course will provide an orientation to Red Cross services and the principles of volunteerism.
