About the Course:
Learn how to help put on the UC Berkeley's largest student run fundraiser!
Most of the course will focus on the planning of Relay For Life, the American Cancer Society's signature fundraiser. Every student will be placed on a committee (they include: Logistics, Entertainment, Sponsorship, Food Allocation, Cancer Awareness, Luminaria, Team Recruitment, Publicity or Survivorship). We'd love to have people that have participated in Relay before (in college or in high school) as well as people who have never been involved! The course will also have speakers (oncologists, researchers and cancer survivors) who will discuss their work in helping eradicate cancer.
Be ready for an amazing semester of bonding and lots of fun as we put on the best event this campus has seen so far!
How to Enroll:
All interested students must attend the first day of classes (Wednesday, January 21) to pick up and fill out an application for the class. We will be passing out CECs shortly after we read the applications and meet you!
Don't worry! If you are passionate about fighting cancer and don't want to join the class JUST for the unit, you'll do fine.
