About the Course:

Focus on Photography is a semester long class that will teach beginning photographers techniques, skills and aesthetic considerations that will advance their photography. This class is largely based around the learning potential of group critiques, and receiving feedback on your work from your peers as well as your facilitators. We will attempt to equally divide instruction between the technical and aesthetic aspects of photography. Learning (aside from critiques) will be primarily based around lectures and demos, with a couple of hands-on workshops and class field trips.

Focus on Photography will cover the fundamental techniques of photography within a small and intimate classroom environment. There will be weekly assignments and a final portfolio. Note that this is not a digital-only class, however...

A camera with manual control is required. It is highly recommended that you have a digital camera for this class, preferably a DSLR.

All skill levels are welcome, you do not need an extensive photographic background to enroll.

How to Enroll:

Come to orientation: Wednesday, January 28th, 4:00pm to 6:00pm. You will be given an application, and the opportunity to fill it out and submit it then. Shortly thereafter, we will email all applicants to inform them of their status. CCNs will be given out at this time.

Orientation has passed and consideration for enrollment this semester is over. If you attended orientation and submitted an application, you should have already received an email informing you of your enrollment status. For those who did not attend orientation, we are unable to take any new applicants.
