About the Course:
This course seeks to understand the world of Joss Whedon's Firefly a fan favorite in the Sci-fi community that was cut off before it really had the chance to explode into the hit it could have. While there's much to the 'Verse, and the class will be encouraged to explore as much as they can and want to, this course seeks to understand the show for its cultural value, its habit of blending the ideas, imagery, and concepts that are distinctly thought of as Asian with those to do with the American Frontiere. Through this exploration we will watch the first season, and further discuss the episodes. Class will meet once a week.
We're really looking forward to the opportunity to explore the 'Verse with you! Who knows, you might get a backwater town named after you!
