The Ethics of Star Trek

This course is both an exploration of ethical issues within the Star Trek universe and a partial introduction to ethical philosophy. Each class meeting, we will watch a Star Trek episode and then discuss the ethical issues it presents. In the process, we will relate the issues to real life and apply ethical theories from some important philosophers. Some weeks we will have (short) assigned readings related to ethics.
