About the Course:

Wednesdays 3-5 pm

The Craft of Facilitating provides current and potential undergraduate course facilitators a creative and challenging environment to explore course design and facilitation.

In the Craft of Facilitating, students

  • learn course design.
  • learn how to write a syllabus.
  • learn different ways to promote engagement and  participation.
  • practice facilitation skills by preparing and piloting lessons.
  • provide and receive honest, supportive, constructive feedback.

The Craft of Facilitating is a semester-long, 2-unit course for Pass/No Pass credit. Students concurrently facilitating a course are eligible to receive an additional unit and take the course for 3 units.  The course counts towards the Ed Minor Field Studies requirement and has no prerequisites.

The Craft of Facilitating is offered through the Undergraduate Course Facilitator Training and Resources (UCFTR) Office in the Student Learning Center (SLC).
